Select Saddle Mule Auction

 

Auction Information Sheet

PRIVATE SALES: Absolutely no private sales in the yards before and/or after the auction. Management feels this is unfair to the buyers who are in the bleachers. All mules brought to the sale must be consigned and go through our auction ring.

 

CATALOGUED MULES:  Consignment period begins January 1st with consignments being accepted on a first come first serve basis up to a maximum of 100.  Jake Clark reserves the right of refusal on all Mules not meeting the Select Saddle Mule Auction Standards of Quality.  Mules must have photo, consignment sheet and fees paid to be accepted.

 

PROPER PAPERWORK to enter sale premises:  All mules must have a coggins test current within six months of sale date.  All out of state mules must have current Health Papers.  Brand inspections must accompany mules from Brand States as well as all mules in Wyoming (out of Park County).   NO EXCEPTIONS, PLEASE.

 

MULE COMMISSION: There will be a cataloging fee of $125.00 per head for all cataloged consignments. This fee will be non- refundable after February 1st and the fee will include one stall per consigned mule.  A 7% commission will be charged on all sale mules. There will be a $75.00 no-sale charge on mules in addition to the catalogue fee. Animals that are rejected by the buyer because they are misrepresented in the ring will be charged 7%, same as if sold. There will be no substitutions of catalogued mules.  Jake Clark will check these animals and will make the final determination whether there was misrepresentation. All mules will be charged a $5.00 brand inspection fee by state law.

 

GUARANTEE: Each Mule will be guaranteed sound by the seller.  If the mule is not considered sound, the buyer has until
June 16, 2008, at noon. to have Jake Clark inspect the mule.  Jake Clark will make the determination as to soundness of the mule.  If the mule is considered unsound, the buyer will be returned his purchase price, less fees.  The seller of an unsound mule will not be paid for the mule, but will be responsible for any fees in conjunction with sale fees.  The buyer(s) will also be responsible to pick up his/her mule by June 17, 2008, at 5 p.m. or a daily stall and feed fee will be due.  Each consignor will be totally responsible for other guarantees they make on their animals. The guarantees of each animal will be made only from the auction block while the animal is being sold. Absolutely no guarantee or warranty will be expressed or implied by the auctioneers or ring men. 

If you’re not happy with these guarantees, please do not consign your mule to our sale.

 

WARRANTY: The buyer assumes full ownership and responsibility of the animal from the time it is sold in the Auction ring and is responsible for proper feed and care.

 

CONSIGNORS' CHECKS: All consignors' checks will be mailed out within 10 business days of Auction date.

 

CHECK-IN:  All mules must be checked in by June 13, 2008, at 9:00 a.m.  Office Check in time is Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.  The earlier your mules are in their stalls, the sooner the potential buyers can see them.

 

LOADING OUT: Buyers must have a release from the office for all load outs. Trucker and load out man must sign all loadout slips. Brand Inspector on sight on sale day.  All mules must be removed from grounds by June 19, 2007, at 9 a.m. or make other arrangements with Jake Clark.

 

NOTICE: Please keep all dogs leashed while on Jake Clark's Mule Day’s and Auction grounds.

 

LIABILITY: Buyers, sellers and spectators are cautioned to exercise care while attending the sale and enter the premises at their own risk. Jake Clark's Mule Day’s and Auction shall not be liable for injuries sustained by anyone attending Jake Clark's Mule Days Activities. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by their parents.

We are very happy that our Select Saddle Mule Sale has so much interest annually.  Because of this, and that we limit our sale mule numbers, we begin taking consignments January 1st each year.  Our sale is generally full by January 5th-10th or earlier.  Call Jake to see if your mule will be accepted in this year’s sale.

For new consignors, please forward a video of your auction mule in November or December.  Please show your mule on video as follows:  catching the mule in a large area, not a small pen; bridling the mule; saddling the mule, riding the mule; and picking up its feet.  Please show how well the mule reins, backs, and generally handles especially around it’s ears.  Also show any other qualities your mule may have; roping, cutting or other exceptional qualities.  Call Jake to make sure that we have received your video, and to see if your mule will be accepted for this year’s auction.

Consignment preference is given to the top quality mule consignors from the previous year.
