GENERAL INFORMATION

Application Deadline
All applications must be received by April 20th
 

Theme:  “Highlighting the Saddle Mule.”  

Eligibility
Only artists may enter themselves in the show, and they may do so only once. Each artist may authorize an agent to act as a representative. Artists’ agents or representatives must have a letter of authorization from each artist they represent. This letter must specifically identify the agent and contain a statement transferring responsibility for the artwork to the agent.  

All entries must be works of the artist(s).  The type of work acceptable and appropriate is as follows: Any medium of fine art, sculpture and there will be a special miniature display section available.  Miniatures will include those pieces that are 12” x 12” or smaller, including the frame.  

Categories
There will be three categories as follows:  Professional, Amateur, and Youth (Ages 12 & under).
 

Jury
A panel of art professionals, collectors and artists will review the total body of submitted work in May. Your work will be reviewed by the panel in a blind jury process; the identities of the artists are not disclosed to jurors. Selections will be made based upon a combination of factors including quality and originality of work as well as technical expertise
.  

It is important to note that categories, as listed within the application, are used by Jake Clark’s Mule Days Art Show & Auction as a tool for organizing artists’ work into logical, related groups for the panel’s review.  

Artist Notification
Artists will be notified selections by mail by May 20th.  

Submitting Your Work
You may submit your work by digital format. (.gif, .jpg, .bmp – we recommend 300dpi resolution) with your application. 

  • You may also submit prints (3”x5” or 4”x6”) if you’d like – we will convert them to digital images. However, prints may not be returned.
  • You must submit three (3) images of your work. 

    All entries MUST BE LABELED with the
    artist’s name, address, telephone number, title, medium and category with or on the back of the work.  

Fees
The jury fee is $25 per application and category. It will be deposited upon receipt and will not be refunded.
 

Donation of Art
If fully donating work for silent auction, please indicate which Non-profit organization you wish to donate your percent of proceeds.  Donations can be fully/partially donated toward the following non-profit organizations (No exceptions).
 

  • Jake Clark’s Mule Days Scholarship Fund
  • Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation
  • American Cancer Society
  • Park County Arts Council or Art League Artists
  • Wyoming State 4-H Foundation
  • FFA–Local Chapters, Cody, Powell or Meeteetse

Rules
Each applicant may apply only once for a specific category.  All work exhibited must be original art produced by the artist. No offset reproductions of any kind may be displayed or auctioned. Limited edition prints will
NOT be permitted.  These rules will be strictly enforced.  Not-For-Sale work is not permitted.  

Media Categories
Paintings: Acrylic, Oil, Pastel, Watercolor, Graphite, Pen & Ink, Scratchboard and Giclee’ Sculpture (Carving, Bronzes & Cold Castings)

SHOW INFORMATION  

Silent Auction - All Art entered will have a Silent Auction bidding form provided by Jake Clark’s Mule Days and be available for bids during hours of operation.  The artist will place the lowest price they will accept for their art piece on their entry and if the bidding meets that minimum bid by 10 a.m. Sunday…the art will be considered sold, except those pieces receiving awards as referred to in the Judging information.

If minimum bid is NOT received, Exhibitor will have their artwork returned to them.  Between 5 & 9 p.m., Sunday, if art work is not sold, it will be the responsibility of the artist to pickup their artwork between the times designated or have prearranged shipping instructions for return

For all sold artwork, the artist and buyer will be notified and the payment will be required prior to releasing any art. Art that is sold will return 70% of the bid price to the artist, or the designated percentage of the bid price. The accepted bid price must be within the designated amount per entry form provided by the artist.  

Judging
Best of Show – People’s Choice overall judging for all media categories will take place by ballot of those attendee’s that are registered at Jake Clark’s Mule Days.  The cut off date for ballots is Saturday 7 p.m.  Please note that Jake Clark’s Mule Days Art Show & Auction reserves the right not to give awards in every category.  In particular, categories with few entries may be combined for award purposes.

Use of Art Work
Jake Clark’s Mule Days may wish to use the images for advertising of future events. In this case the artist will be notified. It is the specific intention of Jake Clark’s Mule Days to use the artwork for the promotion of future events.

Security
Security camera provide protection during open hours each day. Jake Clark’s Mule Days will make reasonable efforts to insure that the pieces of art will not be damaged or stolen during the exhibition and/or sale of the art pieces. 
 

Insurance: 
We do not provide insurance coverage for art entered in the show. We recommend you verify that your insurance coverage extends to display in the show.
