Scott packs his own string and has a vast amount of experience of where you can save time and effort with packs, what you can do to prevent problems, and what is the best way to pack various types of packs.  You can take a turn and get first hand experience or you can learn by watching and listening.  Scott has provided training in past years and our clinicians always learn some very good points.  Save your animals and prevent those on the trail problems that always seem to happen.  Join this 4 hour clinic for a minimum price of $35.00

Mule/Horsemanship Clinic: The three day ranch clinic will include: improving and advanced mule/horsemanship, learning and practicing the different packing systems, developing the "Leave No Trace" camping techniques and strengthening wilderness skills and ethics. Clinic time will be spent working on areas of improvement specific for yourself and your animal to improve your riding awareness and advance your stock skills to prepare you for the practical use of the trip in the Wyoming backcountry setting. You will responsible for your meals at the ranch clinic.

Day 1. Working the hard to catch mule. Building trust by understanding how the mule thinks. How to break down its habits of self preservation to gain acceptance. Using body language to establish communication. Establishing a polite and respectful behavior in the mule. Solving problems. Ears, feet, cinchiness, pushiness etc. Over coming scared spots, saddling and saddle fit, cruppers, britchens and bits.
Day 2. Working the hard to catch mule and solving problems will be on going based on what is found with mules as they progress. Starting the seven basics. These basics are supplying exercises to get the mules feet moving so we can begin to refine them towards being able to use them in every day jobs in the hills and on the ranch. Includes, lateral flexion and one rein stops, moving the hip, vertical flexion, the front end, backing with collection, flexion while moving forward, moving the hip into the direct rein for leads and side passes.
Day 3. Let us know what your mule needs. Advancing and refining the seven basics to start jobs. Stops, rollbacks, beginning the spin, side passes. Relaxed and responsive mules are the goal.
